Phlur Ameline Review 2020 | Eco-friendly, clean perfume

Phlur Ameline Review 2020 | Eco-friendly, clean perfume

The Top Line: BUY! We are fans of Phlur’s Ameline fragrance! While certainly more of a ‘splurge’ purchase, we think there’s a genuine quality of ingredients that translate to a better perfume here. We appreciate their clean ingredients, packaging, and their commitment to giving back.

The Breakdown:

  • Cost & Products: $96 for 50mL, or 6-12 months of wear

  • How ‘Clean’ Is This? Clean ingredients, and no Parabens, phthalates, BHT, phenoxyethanol and nitro or polycyclic musks.

  • Packaging: 20% recycled glass bottles, 100% recycled cardboard packaging.

  • Purchasing & Shipping: We purchased on Phlur.com. Great experience.

  • Note: Also available on Amazon

  • What’s Your Impact? Phlur perfumes exclude all harmful ingredients—minimizing skin irritants and no unnecessary additives. All ingredients are responsibly sourced.

The Experience

Context: We have generally used simple scents based on essential oils as we don’t love the overly sweet/flowery department store fragrance brands. We were excited to try Phlur, a fragrance brand that has built their brand on clean ingredients, unisex scents, and marketing that’s about the ingredients rather than selling sex.

  • The shopping experience is awesome. Clear indications on the site about the scent notes, as well as the weight and longevity of the scent! We haven’t seen this before!

  • We really really love Ameline—it is addictive! We are finding ourselves go an extra few spritzes each day.

Overall, we are obsessed. Can you tell?

The Cost

There are A LOT of options out there for fragrances, but we thought we’d compare with some popular mainstream brands, as well as some other ‘clean’ scents:

Money Report: Phlur’s pricing is in the range against other luxury fragrances, clean and otherwise.

The Good:

The scent is seriously addictive

Fantastic site experience — we have never seen a fragrance site that told how heavy the scent was, or how long it might last

Beautiful, recyclable Packaging

Sensitive skin friendly

Hypoallergenic, cruelty-free, vegan

Sustainably sourced and packaged with recycled materials

No parabens, phthalates, BHT, phenoxyethanol and nitro or polycyclic musks

The Bad:

Really nothing that we came across!

Our Recommendation: BUY! We are fans of Phlur’s Ameline fragrance! While certainly more of a ‘splurge’ purchase, we think there’s a genuine quality of ingredients that translate to a better perfume here. We appreciate their clean ingredients, packaging, and their commitment to giving back.
