Better Way Toilet Paper Review 2020 | Eco-friendly, sustainable toilet paper

Better Way Toilet Paper Review 2020 | Eco-friendly, sustainable toilet paper

The Top Line: Not a buy.

We’ve tried a lot of sustainable bamboo toilet papers this year — read all about it in our Big Bamboo Toilet Paper Roundup Review! Better Way is the MOST expensive option, while less soft and a smaller roll. We’re not quite sure why you would opt for Better Way’s bamboo toilet paper over other brands!

The Breakdown:

  • Cost & Products: 21.99 for 12-pack on Amazon, they also have options on their website but currently all sold out.

  • Packaging: Came in a recyclable cardboard box, no plastic!

  • Purchasing & Shipping: We purchased on Amazon, so it was pretty straight forward.

  • Coupons: None that we found on Amazon.

  • What’s Your Impact? The paper itself is made from Bamboo, which can grow 3ft in just 24 hours — it can be harvested once a year and doesn’t need to be replanted. It also uses 30% less water than hardwood trees, gives out 35% more oxygen than trees — an acre of bamboo can fix approximately 25 metric tons of atmospheric CO2 per year.

The Experience

Context: We’ve tried a lot of bamboo toilet papers this year — and most are not very soft (read more about it in our Big Bamboo Toilet Paper Roundup Review).

  • Overall we found Better Way’s bamboo toilet paper VERY similar to Who Gives a Crap’s bamboo toilet paper (the sheets look exactly the same), but you are getting a smaller roll with Better Way

The Cost

Money Report:

The Good:

Easy on septic tanks

Bamboo significantly more sustainable than paper TP

Genuinely looks nice stacked in a bathroom, we also liked the colors of the wrapping

The Bad:

Pricey to be green when it comes to toilet paper, and Better Way is the most expensive option we have tried so far!

Not very soft — certainly not the softest of the bamboo toilet papers we tried

Our Recommendation: Not a buy.

We're on a mission to reduce our personal carbon footprint with small, hopefully easy, changes in our home to fight against climate change. This means we're looking for products that may be all natural, ideally zero waste, reusable or compostable -- while still being affordable!
