Aroma Naturals Aromatherapy Candle 2020 Review | Zero-Waste & Sustainable Pillar Candle

Aroma Naturals Aromatherapy Candle 2020 Review | Zero-Waste & Sustainable Pillar Candle

The Top Line: We think this is a BUY!

It is relatively difficult to find a simple essential-oil based fragrance candle that doesn’t come in a container…. that ends up in the landfill.

We are excited to find Aroma Naturals candles! We especially love their lavender “Tranquility” pillar candle. All of their candles are made with aromatherapy pure essential oils — allergy friendly with no synthetic fragrances.

The Breakdown:

  • Cost & Products: $12.00 for their 2.5” x 4” candle (50 hour burn time) or $16.91 for 2.75” x 5” (70 hour burn time)

  • How ‘Clean’ Is This? Pretty clean - it came in a recyclable box and wax paper wrapper (to help preserve the scent). Pillar candle, so no additional containers.

  • Packaging: Wax paper, recyclable box

  • Purchasing & Shipping: We bought ours on Amazon.

  • Good to Know: Smells pretty awesome

  • Coupons: Nah, it’s on Amazon.

  • Whats Your Impact? No more empty glass, metal or ceramic containers after you burn through a candle!

The Experience

We like simple essential oil based scents, particularly lavender and rose.

  • Smells lovely, not too heavy-handed

  • Tranquility’s lavender scent is calming

  • Burns well, no extra smoke and does not appear to burn too quickly

The Cost

We compared Aroma Naturals to a few other candles, ranging from more mass options like Mrs. Meyers and Chesapeake Bay to more specialty options like Boy Smells. We assumed an average burn time of 10 hours per week x 52 weeks, to get to 520 of annual burn time a year":

Money Thoughts: Aroma Naturals is on par with the mass options from a price per hour perspective!

We are very happy when its a win win for the planet and our wallets.

The Good:

Smells fabulous and natural

No use of plastic, ceramic, metal or glass containers

All-cotton wick (metal-free)

Made with pure essential oils, allergy friendly with no synthetic fragrances

Handmade in Southern California

Did we mention it smells awesome?

Priced super reasonably

The Bad:

Nothing, really. I wish they had a rose scent though! More scents!

Well, they could maybe offer a little bit of a discount and encourage us to buy in bulk — and save shipping carbon footprint.

Our Recommendation: This is a BUY!

We're on a mission to reduce our personal carbon footprint with small, hopefully easy, changes in our home to fight against climate change. This means we're looking for products that may be all natural, ideally zero waste, reusable or compostable -- while still being affordable!
